Welcome Letter
I am delighted to welcome you to Veritas Classical Schools of North Georgia, where we are dedicated to pursuing gospel-centered, classical Christian education. Our mission is to come alongside churches and homeschooling families to provide an education rooted in biblical truth and Church history. At Veritas, we hold an unwavering confidence in the complete sufficiency, infallibility, and inerrancy of God's Word. Everything we teach flows from our commitment to Scripture, as we strive to instill distinctly Christian beliefs, values, and character in our students. We aim to recover and pass on the rich intellectual heritage of the historic Christian faith.
In the midst of a culture awash with confusion, we are a community anchored to unchanging biblical principles. Here, your children will study God's Word, explore essential doctrines of the faith, and cultivate moral virtue through the lens of our Christian worldview. We will dust off the treasures of Christian history and thought, equipping students to understand their Creator, their world, and their calling. It is my honor to come alongside you in this high calling of Christian education. I invite you to join our growing community, where we seek to pass the baton of faith to the next generation. Together, we will nurture wise, virtuous, and courageous leaders prepared to shine the light of Christ in a lost and wandering world.
Contact us today to learn how you can join us as we seek to Glorify our Lord and Creator through Christian education. Richest blessings to you all.
Daniel C. Ippolito, Chaplain
From Our Ministry Director
Welcome to Veritas Classical Schools of North Georgia, a private-homeschool hybrid serving Lumpkin, Hall, and Dawson Counties. Veritas NGA provides a classical Christian education in the American tradition. We are delighted you are considering our school for your family. Veritas is founded on unwavering biblical principles and a steadfast commitment to provide families a comprehensive classical Christian education.
At Veritas, we aim to nurture and equip the next generation with biblical truth, intellectual prowess, and moral courage. We hold an uncompromising conviction in the complete sufficiency, infallibility, and inerrancy of God's Word, with those biblical doctrines articulated in the Church's ancient creeds and many 16th and 17th century Protestant confessions.
Our students are immersed in Scripture and the Great Books that have shaped Western civilization, with special attention to our Christian intellectual heritage and the principles of liberty embedded in America's founding documents. We also provide robust courses in classical languages, science, mathematics, and the arts. Our aim is to graduate young men and women deeply rooted in God's Word, able to integrate faith and reason, and prepared to impact the world for Christ.
At Veritas, you'll find a community committed to pursuing academic excellence and spiritual vitality with grace, wisdom, and love. We consider it a privilege to partner with families in providing a Gospel-centered, classical education that equips students for faith, virtue, and influence. Please explore our website to learn more about our biblical foundations, educational philosophy, and welcoming community. We invite you to join us as we seek to love the Lord with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength!
We want our children to receive a classical education that encourages them to love learning, be critical thinkers with a biblical worldview, and to grow in character that will build them into godly men and women. Veritas has provided opportunities to make great progress towards all of those goals. Our children are thriving and growing into excellent students. The homeschool hybrid option combines the benefits of being in a classroom with the benefits of homeschooling. Veritas is the best of both worlds!
Our vision is the restoration of classical Christian thought and practice within the halls of education. We aspire to resurrect the rich heritage of the Christian intellectual tradition and to rekindle the spirit of classical Christian inquiry, thereby guiding the minds and bodies of our students and their families toward a deeper understanding of God's creation and their role within it.
Answers To Commonly Questions
In recent decades, there has been an alarming collapse of eduction into secularization and intellectual vice--trends which have even infiltrated private and Christian schools. Under the guise of compassion, love, and open-mindedness, a culture of secularism and anti-intellectualism has served to undermine our rich Christian intellectual heritage, leading to a mass exodus of young people from the church after high school graduation.
Christian education is rooted in the truth of Scripture. We recognize that education is ultimately about God. As such, the purpose of education is to know God and his Law, the Grace of God secured in the person and work of Jesus Christ, and our duty to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Since God is the Creator and Sustainer of all Creation, Christian education integrates all learning, disciplines, and sciences into a cohesive whole with Christ at the center. Christian education demonstrates the cohesiveness and continuity of faith and reason in every subject.
We are committed to the idea that Christ reigns over this world as King, and we desire to see our students become brilliant lanterns in His hands, reflecting the Light of Christ, and pushing back the darkness of this present world.
Classical Christian education aims to cultivate virtue through the teaching of a broad and rigorous Liberal Arts curriculum. This means that we are not primarily in the business of transferring knowledge. We are in the business of building character through the transfer of knowledge.
This is accomplished by continually presenting to the student that which is objectively True, Good, and Beautiful and showing him how to recognize and appreciate these things because God is the ultimate source and exemplification of them all.
Veritas recognizes that God has entrusted parents--not churches or civil governments--with the authority and responsibility to educate their children. While parents are not required to teach every subject directly, they are accountable directly to God for the raising, development, and discipleship of their children.
Therefore, Veritas aims to partner with like-minded Christian parents, working with them, helping them in their responsibility, and providing their children with an education they might not be able to offer on their own. We understand that children are gifts from God to their parents, who are tasked with their care and education, and Veritas aims to serve as a tool to help parents fulfill their God-given role.
